I love my Wheeler Fat Wrench, but sometimes I need a wrench that's configured more like a ratchet. I've seen large torque wrenches for working on cars, but I'm not aware of a good tool in inch-pounds, so I'd appreciate any recommendations. Thanks.

I have used snap on inch-pound wrenches and love them. They are accurate and repeatable, but not cheap. Snap on is also aviation rated where as most others are not so you are getting a high quality tool.

NAPA sells a nice 1/4" drive that reads in inch/pounds. Under $100 if I remember correctly.

I've used a Wiha 28506 (10-50 in-lb) torque driver for several years now with good results.

+1 for Wiha - good stuff

Be careful to read the "ends", you may need a special adapter to fit most common bits

:)

Well you do need an adapter to fit bits from a 1/4 or 3/8 drive ratchet, but it doesn't mean you need a special one. I think a 1/4 inch 6 point socket will fit the bit, but you'll need to check that yourself. I bought a pretty nice 3/8 torque wrench that will adjust down to 25 inch pounds and the fat wrench can do anything lower. I think mine ran 140$, but I got it to adjust bands on transmission and some other mechanical stuff so I felt it could be justified

You might check Sears. I got a pretty nice one about three years ago for my LMT. Pretty reasonable, if I remember correctly.
