Best choice of buck shot considering shared walls?

I live in a town home and share walls with neighbors.

My 870P is now loaded with 2-3/4" Fiocchi LR 00 Buck - 9 pellets and recoil that I find very manageable.

That said, I'm wondering if #1 or #4 Buck would be a better choice for limiting over penetration considering the walls I share with my neighbors.

God forbid I ever have to fire at a person, but if it came to that, wouldn't #1 or #4 Buck get the job done with less chance of sending a rather large pellet into the next home?

There are two schools of thought here - some of us like buck and slugs for HD, some of us like heavy birdshot. Big difference is your backstop - mine is not as bad as yours (standalone homes for me), but prudence (IMHO) drives me to load a round of #4 birdshot up first, buckshot afterwards.

Lots of reading material in the forum! :D
