Trade a perfectly good Kimmber Warrior for a Mitchells Mauser 45? Are they any good?

I am considering a trade for a Kimber Warrior 1911 for a Mitchell's Mausers 1911.
The Mitchell retails for about 1200 bucks more. Why?

Seriously no joke. This is a Mitchell's Mauser 1911, not a Mitchell's Arms 1911. They retail for 2500$ That's why I am asking.

I explained to my gun store: " If it's used, then there is no harm in me shooting it on your range right? And I can field strip it to check out it's guts right? Used is still used, it's not going to lose value just becuase I tested it out."

Trading a pefectly good Warrior for a broken MM is not a good idea. Try it out first. If they can't, or don't have a range and won't let you borrow it with your Warrior as collateral, pass.

And the golden rule: "Never sell a good 1911, only an unreliable one."

Point well taken. I was looking at it strictly from a monetary stand point. The MM isn't "broken?" though. Supposedly 0FTE. But that little naggin voice in my head says no since the guy that wants it is the guy I traded it from previously. I think i'll sit on the Kimber.

It's been reported the MM 1911s are made by Dan Wesson. MM is famous for overcharging for surplus weapons, why not overcharge for new ones too.

Considering that they want around 2500 bucks for a 450 buck russian capture P-38 stuck in a fancy box I would pass.

Dan Wesson makes sweet guns though. If anything that would make me more likely to trade a Kimber for one.

I don't think I'd trade in your shoes though. Not unless you can check the MM out reall well and want it more than the Kimber.
