Trade two guns for one ??

OK, this is merely hypothetical at this point, but before going out on a limb and possibly suggesting a deal I might regret later, i thought i'd run this by "the matrix".
A local gun dealer i know and have done good buisness with over the last few years, mentioned during a conversation that he had ( among other cool stuff)
an Israeli Galil, which has been for years my personal holy grail of firearms.
I mean, i've been slobbering over these for decades, I even (GASP) considered a Century Golani.
So, trying to make a long story,short, i'm simply not going to drop the cash on a toy of this value, but i'm considering offering a trade. I have a mint condition,very low miles,early 80's Colt AR-15 carbine that i bought new years ago for $550, and a IMI Uzi B model that emerged out of one of our bizarre,trademarked guns/guitars/cash deals. I got a pretty decent deal at the time, but I saw them on-line the other day going for $2500! Both guns have plenty extra mags, original owners manuals,an accessory or two, etc.
Again, this is still hypothetical, this guys a hustler, and he could blow me off for anything less than a killer deal for himself. Also, I don't know if it's .308 or .223 ( i don't want the .308 version).But i don't want to make an offer, then change my mind and look like an idiot, so i'm running the plan by you guys first. As always, any help muchly appreciated.
P.S. The guns i'm considering trading are not my only assault-type rifles, i got stuff to spare, this is only a value-related issue.

In the far distant past I had the hots for a Galil. Finally got to play with one at my local shop. Way too heavy for .223. Felt like it was ready to run some .308 through it.

It was put together very nicely, just way too heavy for me. I think you have better stuff with the Colt and the Uzi.

Take a good look at it before parting with that good stuff of yours.

I'm with Jnyork - Ask yourself if you want it, and whether or not it's worth giving up the two guns you mentioned. We can give you all the answers you want, but at the end of the day, you're the one making the trade, not us.

Do keep us updated on what you decide, however.

I'm with C96; the Galil in .223 is way too heavy for the round it fires, and the Colt and the UZI are worth hanging on to.

After firing one, I know why the Israeli troops hated the Galil. They're too heavy, way too heavy for a .223. By the time I emptied a 35 round mag, I was too tired to keep holding the gun up. I don't have that problem with a FAL or M14/M1A.....

Many thanks for the honest replies, it was exactly what i was looking for. You've helped to put this into perspective,at least a little. I realize i'd be sacrificing two great rifles for only one,but i would still have another AR,a platform i've become less than enamored with, and a couple AK-type rifles, which i've lately become much more a fan of. I've handled a (unloaded .223) galil only once before, but it only re-enforced my desire to get one. Yet i hear what most of you are saying and i respect your opinions, which is why i've posted the question here. Again, this is still only a hypothetical, as i've yet to make an offer to this gunshop owner, but you've got me doubting the wisdom of this deal. Naturally, i'll post any updates should they occur.

Noooooo dont do it. Both colt ar's and uzis run for $1k + each!

I've got a .308 Galil. It's not bad. I prefer my FAL. The Galil in .223? Fuhgedaboudit. However, if it is what you lust after, only getting one will cure that feeling.
