I just got an m&p .45 c this weekend and a friend has fallen in love with it. He is offering me his hk p30L in trade. Seems like a no brainer to me, wanted to see what yall thought. The P30 used to be mine, so I know its clean and in good shape.

Agreed - shoot the p30 first. My wife shoots a p30 and loves it. Other folks have shot it and love it. I don't care for it. I've shot a m&p and liked it. Still prefer my g19 best.

Why did you get rid of the P30 in the 1st place? If you liked it well enough to trade for it, I'd never have let it go.

I bought the HK new because I liked hte ergonomics, but traded it to my friend because i just decided i didnt need umpteen 9mm autos. Its a nice enough gun, but I prefer my glocks. I know the HK is worth close to twice what the M&P is, but I havent had the new 45 long enought to know if I like it or not.

While I like the P30L, good pistol shoots almost as good as one $250 less my G34 Glock. Keep the M&P, and offer him $400 for the used P30L. Parts, Mags and accessories are toooo expensive and hard to find for the H&K, ever look for tritium sights for that model of H&K?

If you traded it once, it seems silly to trade to get it back unless you really regret getting rid of it. Especially with a new gun that you haven't shot much yet. Once you get it back are you going to think that you don't need umpteen 9mm's again?

I imagine that your used M&P45 is worth probably around $350-400 because new ones can be had for around $500. So trading a used M&P45 for a used HK P30L is a good trade in terms of money value. Used P30L's sell for around $650-$700 on average, new they are around $900.

I would do the trade and then if you don't want the P30L then list it on Gunbroker.com and sell it for $700 or try for more, then go buy something you do want.

Kinda what Im thinking. Its just to far slanted in my direction to say no! I'll probly sell the P30, buy another M&P45c and pocket the $250 extra :)
