I traded a stainless Colt Series 80 Government Model for this Officer's Model Match:

I figure, I can most likely connect on another stainless GM, but the OMMs are getting harder to find (at least in my neck of the woods). I haven't shot it yet, but it's in time and locks up "bank vault" tight. Bluing and grips are in very good shape with just a few minor blemishes.
Regards,
Greg

I'm guessing it's a rare collectible using a manufacturing method no longer used or something like that. All of which somehow equates to great performance.

It's not worth anything, but I'll give you $20.00 for it. OK, $25.00, but that's my final offer. I'll go ahead and do you a favor and pay shipping also. I'm a nice guy, so I'll send you a B-Day card for the next 20 years also. But that's it, my final offer. Take it or leave it, but I AM doing you a favor just helping you get rid of that thing. Feel free to call me anytime.:D

Congrats on a GREAT find! :neener::cuss:

Great trade!!!!!!!!!! I have one in 38 and am actively seeking a 22. I have a Colt Official Police in 22 and love it, same frame, action, barrel length, but fixed sights and not quite as refined, but same lock work design. Great guns, did I mention that they are great guns, OH and I really like them!!!!!!!!!!!!

You did good. I've got a similar version made for three years or so in the early fifties: the Officer's Special. The only significant differences between the two that I know of are the sights (the Special has the "Coltmaster" adjustables) and the barrel (the Special has an aesthetically unflattering, untapered bull barrel).

I'm not a Colt DA revolver fan but that looks to be a very clean OMM. I'd say you came out ahead on that trade.

Dave

PS: Stunning photography!!

Neither am I. I own a Colt Python since 1985 but barely shoot it. The OMM however is shooting pretty well in single action. Double action it is a world away from a Korth .22 l.r.
