Fuff,

I have never had to return a brand new gun before either... Every new gun I have purchased in the past has worked out of the box. Interesting that I bought 2 in the past week that have defects. Again... todays gun makers are focused on only one thing... quotas. Quality is pretty far down their list of priorities.

I'm glad that I do have some good defensive pistols that I purchased before the "Gun Rush of 2009". At least I have something on my hip that I can trust while my new 637 heads back to the factory. Had I known that things were so bad in the new gun market, I would have never decided to buy right now.

Yeah, the gun rush has made the Ruger LCP, a pistol I could use in my carry battery, rather scarce. I had the money for one right after I got my tax return back. :banghead: I'll get one when/if the rush cools off, I guess. Hell, I'm low on .380 ACP brass and ammo is non-existent in the caliber, anyway.

Also for the record, I have never bought a firearm that had to be returned to the maker for corrective work from git-go. But that said, I haven't bought anything brand new lately either.

Lemons have always been produced (maybe less so in the past), but it seems that with used guns most of the bad ones have already been repaired or turned into lug nuts.

I really prefer to buy used anymore for that reason and, well, you can find some deals on some really good guns. Also, if you buy from an individual, big brother has no clue. That attracts me, not that I'm a black helicopter kinda guy, but the less big brother knows about my business, the better.
