traded two rifles for one new one!

well I did it Tuesday I traded two rifles for one new one at the gun store as I dropped down from loading four cartridges to two so now I'll be only shooting 30-30 and 45 colt. I was loading shooting 243 and 44mag but decided to light'n the load a bit and concertrate on just two cartridges I really love! so now I have three 30-30's and two 45 colt rifles! so what I got was a rossi 92 16in barrel 45 colt with large loop saddle ring and seeing how I've never had a large loop saddle ring this one I just fell in love with! so now I own two rossi 92's in 45 colt, and the other model is the standard loop no saddle ring both 16in barrels in which makes these light and very easy to carry! so now I am happy with this set up.

Welcome to the Rossi Model 92 Club! Have the exact same carbine and I love it. Nice and light and compact; goes great with my Ruger Vaquero and Beretta Stampede.

I bought a Rossi 92 a few years back in 45 colt. It is the stainless 20 inch model. Love it. Had XS ghost ring sights added with the front just forward of the locking lugs. Also had a satin finish. Also had the action smoothed up a bit.

Congratulations, you have a nice rifle.

Now do away with the idiot safety on top of the bolt, replace the plastic follower with a metal one and stone the action so it feeds smoothly and you are good to go.

thank you guys! sure love both of my rossi 92's they are fun and cool and I 've gotta get a camera as mine died recently but I throw my idiot safety's away and what I do which looks cool is bein a reloader for years I have some 25acp shells that I take apart and I take the primer out and I take the primer and take the anvil out then I scrape the priming compound out and then I cut the 25acp shell and measure how deep I can go into the safety hole and I cut the casing shorter to there it dosent completely go to the bottom of the safety hole as if you do it will block the firing pin. so I cut it short enough it will not block the firing pin and fit it in the hole to where the back of it shows. then I cut a groove in the hull to where the pin will slide thru and lock the casing into place I make sure its tight and wedges the casing in place when the pin is driven thru. then before I totally put this in I then take the empty primer and put it back in so it looks like the 25acp casing is live then install it in the safety hole and then take a tiny screwdriver and scrape the paint out of the s and f there will be blue left and once done it looks very good with the 25 acp shell sitting in that safety hole!

Easy enough to just change the lever itself rather than having two of the same exact rifles otherwise, but...whatever floats your boat I guess.

I understand but I wanted two of these rossi rifles as I liked both of these wonderful guns! the large loop for wearing gloves in cold weather and the other when I don't need gloves. nice excellent rifles my hats off to rossi!!

I wasn't quite sure of the move when I bought my Rossi 92 in .357. However, after a slickening stone job on the internals, I am quite pleased. I am considering mounting a peep sight on top where the safety is located. I hope you enjoy yours as much as I enjoy mine.
