I have decided to up-end part of my collection and am having trouble trying to figure out what a fair market value would be for them.

-Kimber Pro-Carry II LNIB (600 rounds through and looks as good as when I got it in October)
-SIGPro 2009 w/ night sights in excellent condition

I'm getting rid of the Kimber for another 1911-pattern weapon (Springfield Mil-Spec most likely) and the SIG for a pistol to be determained. Now where I need help is, what should I expect to get from these guns?

As always, I'd be grateful for any help.

Thank you and Semper Fi!

$600 for the Kimber

$375 for the Sig Pro

This is if you sell them here in the classifieds. If you trade in at the dealer take 20% off those numbers.

Trading in or selling? You say your trading in some guns, does that mean youre taking them to the store to get credit on something new? If you are youre likely to get 60% on whatever those guns cost to them new. I was just offered $300 in trade value for a Sig 2340 in mint condition and took the deal. SigPro's just don't seem to hold their value well, not like Sig's other models. I would say on trade you'd be lucky to get $300 on the Sig, selling outright you might get $375 to $425 depending on how badly someone wants one, I certainly wouldn't pay much more than $400 for a used one no matter what condition.

The Kimber I would definitely sell outright if you can, no one is going to give you what that's worth in trade value. If its in the condition you say it is I would easily pay $600 for it and I'm sure there are people out there that would pay even more. On trade, wow that's tough, maybe you'll get $450 - $500 for it depending on how friendly you are with the store and what youre trading it on.

Look at it this way as it is you easily have at least a $1000 in value between the two guns, maybe a bit more, in trade you might get a $750 - $800 gun. Selling outright I bet you can get a real nice replacement.

Good Luck!

The (largest) local store offered me $350 for the SIG (though I believe I can squeeze another $25 or so out of it). I'm at work for a few more days, but I'll see what I can get out of the Kimber then.

Thanks for the replies insofar and please keep them coming.

Regards and Semper Fi!

If they offer you anywhere in the range of $350-$375 do it! That's a great deal for a trade-in. You'd be lucky to find someone who will buy a used one for much more than that! Go on gunbroker.com and see what people are selling them outright for, I think you'll find that the trade-in value they are offering you is very generous. Now you just have to talk them into giving you $600 for the Kimber and youre all set!
