For what it's worth, I wasn't offended or bothered by any comments in this thread. I was somewhat familiar with the laws governing transport of fireams in Texas but wasn't sure if there might be some odd rules about numbers of handguns or ammo.
I still wonder if I might get hassled a little over having a gun case in the passenger seat right next to me. As far as the general public goes, anyone spotting the handgun case through my tinted windows and recognizing what it is probably won't be alarmed by it.
I traded my 9mm for a nice little 10/22 target rifle today and that case is pretty easy to spot in my truck.
I'm assuming the rules are the same for transport on my motorcycle as in my truck. I don't think I'll be testing the legality of strapping my rifle accross my back and going for a ride. Even though the reactions would probably be pretty funny if I put on my all black armoured riding gear and went for a ride on my mostly black crotch rocket with a scoped rifle in plain view. Legal or not, I suspect that might get me a little LEO attention.
