Tree Stands, help!

Well, this is the damage I did with my birthday gift cards. I think I spent a total of $60 out of my own pocket if I remember correctly. I just have a few things left before I'll be 100% ready for the upcoming season. And I think a lot of it will have to do with how the weather is expected to be on the first few weeks. I might need some better pants if it turns out to be cold. BUT I can always layer more if need be.

It looks like you are set and ready.

I use my battery powered Dewalt Sawzall to trim out shooting lanes and stand sites.

I fastened my sheath knife to my safety harness with some zip ties. That has proven very useful. I always have it along, and always accessible

This may or may not be pertinent to your situation. It all depends on where you hunt. I buy very high quality harnesses but cheap hang on stands. More specifically, I wait until Feb when the local Meijer puts all their stands and climbing sticks on clearance. Ive bought lots of stands for like 30 bucks. I hunt a 200 acre farm and right now, we have 17 stands up I believe. The other farm I hunt is 70 acres and we have 9 or 10 stands up. It's SO nice to not have to carry a stand in to hunt. Just figure out which way the wind is blowing, decide which stand to hunt and walk to it, climb up and hunt. Most are hang on stands and climbing sticks but 5 or 6 are ladder stands. As a bonus, the deer get use to the stands being there and pay no attention to them at all. In May or June we go and check stands to make sure they are still safe and do any needed repairs then. This has made my deer hunting much more enjoyable and less work.
This is obviously not an option when hunting public land. In that case, I use either a climber or use rope steps and a hang on stand.

I like sitting on the ground when gun hunting. I have a burlap covered 6gal bucket with a padded lid that I use as a seat, and pack some gear inside.
I don't use it to bowhunt.
