Tried a new tact with noise complaints

I work at the USAFA and a retired Army colonel built a fancy house on a hill next to the base. He then started complaining because the training planes were to noisy. They only fly during the day. The AF told him to kiss off, they weren't going to move the academy for him.

Great job! Amazing what a calm demeanor and accurate information can do for stating your case. Not to mention the positive influence the lady probably left with thanks to your approach.

If all of us used your "style" in our conversations with others I believe we'd make more headway. As opposed to calling them "Bliss Ninny's", etc. That truely sets us back 2 steps for each one we advance.

Again, thanks for handling the situation in a way that benefits "our side."

Try setting up a rainy day fund to cover lead clean up costs in the future. Charge a dollar per shooter per range per day in addition to the usual range fees, and set this aside. Eventually, you'll have enough money squirreled away to cover lead clean up should the need ever arise.

The range I used in FL did this. Members and their families were a dollar per person to shoot. The range was also open to the public when not being used for a club even durring certian hours for 10 dollars a person. Supplemented the membership fees nicely.

I live in Texas and I am unfamiliar with the law you spoke of. Could you post a link to it or give some more information please? There is a local range fighting a land developer near where I live, and the knowledge of that law might be of use in their fight. Thanks

That was merely one of several excuses. It was located in central California and had become surrounded by homes. Even though it was an indoor range, the squatters didn't like it. Closing it down was a protest against guns.

Come on down to Texas. The legislature passed a law that protects gun ranges from encroaching development. The first one there gets to stay there.
