Trigger bolt spring broke, so...

Springs break because they are not properly tempered after hardening, or are required to bend too far, or are not designed properly and do not bend evenly. Fatigue should not be a factor, because springs should be designed to work with their elastic limit. Most of us don't have the temperature control equipment to temper a spring and would have to rely on color to guess what looks about right--so we are stuck using purchased springs, or a seat-of-the-pants attempt to make them.
 
You can also use a bobby pin (those hair things women use). I was told they are three different colors which indicates the strength of the spring. I'll ask the cosmethology instructor what the strengths are.
 
The other option is to set it up like a Ruger with the coil spring and plunger. That's what I do when I tune these revolvers. Makes them so much smoother and reliable.
