Looking at some Red Hawks at one of my favorite dealers I find quite a bit of difference in trigger feel. Several of them the trigger moves smoothly back and the hammer falls. One of them was different. Trigger moved back until I felt a solid lockup, the feel you get when you manually cock the hammer. Then, with a little more pressure the hammer falls.

The trigger felt like I had hand cocked the hammer, and pulling the trigger felt like firing single action.

Was there something wrong with the adjustment of that one Hawk, or was it the only one that was "right?"

More about Red Hawk trigger

What I really want to know is--that odd "thumb cock" feel --is there anything I need to know about that? Is there something wrong with it? Maybe it's the only one that is really "right?" Actually, I don't object to it. I actually like the feel. I can pull the trigger back and when it "locks up" I know more pressure will drop the hammer, but, I can hesitate if I want. A bit like "calling back" the global bombers!
