I love my Mosin Nagant, but the 237 lb trigger pull (well, it feels like that) makes staying accurate a bit harder. I'd like to lessen the pull a bit and, being that it's cheap to replace the sear and trigger if I goof it up, I wouldn't mind trying it myself.

Anyone have any good links to videos, pictures, etc of how to properly do a trigger job on an M44? I've seen the Huber ball trigger and I like that, but I'm a cheap bastard and don't want to spend $70 for a trigger on a $80 rifle.

Any tips are appreciated.

Looks easy as pie... i should try that on my M38 one of these days. Plus you can put that empty beer can to use:

I buy more guns than I make trips to the range.

That gun went to the range after glassing with a 7X scope and shot 180 gr Sierra bullets 5 shots into 1.5" at 50 yards, 2873 fps

That gun before glassing shot a 3.3" 3 shot group at 100 meters with the same powder charge, but with Remington 180 gr bullets and a 40X scope.

Another change is that I have become a much better handloader and better shot over the same years.

What does it all mean?
I have too many out of control variables to tell what causes a change in accuracy most of the time, and your question puts me in worse than usual territory.

But generally, glass bedding makes guns shoot better if done right and worse if done wrong. That one was done right, so it probably helped. I don't know.

MY DIY MOSIN TRIGGER...here's how (DISCLAIMER DO SO AT YOU OWN RISK)

If you own a drill press and have a center punch, high speed drill bits, cutting oil your ready. Drill the trigger, tap, and install a small SS allen screw like you see in the picture below (ace hardware has everything you'll need). You will have made an adjustable trigger for you Mosin!
