I am looking at an optic for AR that is more compatible with my worsening astigmatism. Red dots have stopped being a discrete dot and are now more of a star shaped blob. I was looking through the Trijicon Reflex (dual illumination fiberoptics and tritium), and the dot is much clearer for me which I like a lot.
The illumination is where I have a concern. In bright light, the fiberoptics work great. However, if I am in a darker location and trying to sight in on something down range in bright light, I tend to lose the green dot. It fades into the brightness of the distant target.
Also, when I go into a dark room where the fiberoptics don't pick up light and I rely on the tritium, I can only faintly see the tritium, and cant really see it at all until my eyes adjust to low light.
Are these things to be expected with this device?
