It does the same thing in several drills I've used it in.

I was talking bottle neck cause that's what I would use it mostly for.And if you want a good, consistent roll crimp on pistol brass, yes; the cases should not only be square, they should also be identical in length.
"Off a little bit" really has no place in my philosophy of handloading (for lack of a better way of putting it).
