I recently trimmed a bunch of .204 cases, all of which have e been shot 2-3 times. My manual says the maximum length should be 1.850" and the trim length 1.840". As I was measuring each case, some were 1.850 and some longer so I decided I would just trim the whole batch (500 cases) to 1.840". My question is, since the cases are now slightly shorter, should I change the load? That is, I have a great load worked up, so will the slight change in the case length have a significant impact on accuracy? I suppose a few test shots would be wise, but just wondering what your experience has been??

I always seat bullets up against the rifling in my bolt gun anyway so I have never felt the need to make any changes after trimming. FWIW I check case length every time I clean up a batch of 25 and trim each as needed, not necessarily at the same time.

The load pressure depends on the internal volume of the loaded case. Trimming has not changed that, unless you have changed you COL.
