I have a S&W 66-8 revolver with a pinned front sight, that I want to replace with a Dawson. I had no trouble removing the pin. But I'm having trouble removing the sight itself.
Called S&W and they refused to help, for "liability reasons." (What a crock.) Plus seems all the old-timers are gone, and it's just a bunch of newbies who know nothing about guns.
But enough ranting.
I've seen videos where people just yank it out with a vise grips, and videos where people tap it either toward the front or toward the rear. I'd prefer not to destroy the sight in doing so.
Is there a right way to do this?
Thanks
