I bought the night sights from Midway and had them installed at my local Gander Mountain store. I really like them accept the rear sight it too short (or front too tall). If I put the insert on the front in line with the top edge of the rear sight it will hit right, otherwise it will hit low. I did not have this problem with the Hi-Vis sights that were on previously, however (I think) I did have the hitting low problem with the origional sights. This is on a G-26.

Since I was dead on with the Hi-Vis and off with both types of "factory" sights am I the problem? What should I do? The pistol is for home def. and future carry (I hope).

I'm no expert thats for sure but here's what I would do.
Find a good gun shop or gunsmith have them put a lazer bore scope in the barrel to discover your pistols true point of impact a a specific point (ie 7 yards), Then hopefully they will have a sight pusher that they will be able to adjust your rear sight left or right so that point of aim and point of impact will be the same. My Glocks have plastic OEM sights, the front mounts through a hole in the slide, hopefully, and I'm not sure about this, Trijicon can provide shorter or taller front sight to raise or lower the point of impact.
An after thought, before you do anything, try shooting from a bench rest and see what happens or let someone else shoot the gun and see how it works for them. It is very possible that you are the culpret and need to work out what ever it is you are doing wrong.
I have Trijicons on my Kahr K40 with dovetails front and rear. Mine are dead on at 7 yards. (Wish I were).

In the car I realised I forgot to add that my father-in-law and brother-in-law both had problems hitting low. The gunsmith at Gander Mtn said to just learn to hit with this set and save my money (on buying different height sights), he said after I start buying more and more sets (at $100 per) I will never be happy.

The gunsmith at Gander Mountain is a jerk.
(Board censor wouldn't let me call him what I think he really is.)

And Trijicon is not helping. I note that Meprolite and MMC show different sights for G26 & 27 than for other Glocks; Heinie has two choices up to you, and some makes like PT don't even list G26 among the Glocks they offer sights for. Novak and XS like Trijicon and only have one Glock sight.

They can't all be right. The shorter barrel of the G26 locks up at a steeper angle, pointing the barrel relatively low.

Midway probably won't help, but it doesn't cost anything to call them.

You might get some attention by contacting Trijicon direct.

No offense meant by this but the problem might be with you. A lot of people have problems shooting low and to the left with Glocks, if you are right handed, and low and to the right if you left handed. You might have a trigger or grip issue that is throwing you off if you were out with the factory sights and out with the trijicons. The other sights could have been out themselves. Do some dry firing and make sure that you aren't jerking the shots low or squeezing your whole hand, instead of just your trigger finger, when the shot breaks. You can also have a problem similar to that if you are putting to much finger on the trigger or not enough.

The only thing that is strange is that you were fine with the one set of sights and out with the other two. See if it is a grip and or trigger problem before you sink the money into another set of sights.

Tac 17, thanks for the constructive criticism. I worked with it again last night and I was carefully aiming and pulling off each shot. I was getting closer to POA hits. I recently changed the way I hold from left hand under mag to left hand left and slightly infront of the grip. (make sense?) The problem may very well be me. Thanks again.
