I have had good success with True Blue in 9x19. I discovered it during the panic of 2009 when my regular powder at the time was unavailable and have stuck with it. Just follow Ramshot's data.

I have not considered it for 45 ACP as I really like my 230 RN/700-X load for that cartridge.

True Blue is very slow burning powder for 9mm. Lots of muzzle blast .
If you load high end loads it'll run okay, but for mid-range or lower it is not a good 9mm powder. There will be a lot of residue & smoke, but it will go bang.
Look at a powder burn-rate charts and notice it's slower than Silhouette, Hs-6, n350 plus a lot more slow-burn powders. http://www.reloadbench.com/burn.html

45, I don't have experience with.

It works well in 9MM, but I have not tried it in .45 ACP, although it should do well for full power 230 Gr stuff, should.

As with most burn charts you will find some variation. According to Ramshot's burn chart, True Blue is almost identical to Silhouette in burn rate and much faster burning than HS-6 and N-350. Hodgdon burn chart also places it faster than HS-6 and N-350, they even have it faster than Silhouette.

I personally do not find it to slow for the 9MM producing excessive muzzle blast, smoke or unburned powder/residue.

I've used it in .45 acp, but found it works best at near maximum loads with jacketed bullets.

I tried some medium loads with cast bullets and found it left a lot of unburned powder in the gun, plus a lot of gunk that I don't get with other powders and cast bullets, and I shoot cast bullets by the thousands. For cast bullets, I call True Blue "Truly Dirty".

It's my favorite powder with the Berry's 185 gr. Hollow Base Round Nose .45 acp bullet. It produces great accuracy and good velocity when loaded neat the top of Ramshot's listed data.

Hope this helps.

I shoot both 45ACP & 9MM which I load for both. I found Ramshot Powder for both Calibers is an Excellent choice. I have found pet loads for my Glock 21 which as you know is 45ACP to be True Blue, while the 9mm Glock 19 likes The Silhoutte Powder. I found pet loads for Both with Excellent accuracy. I shoot 124 Grain in the 9MM & 200 Grain in the 45
I hope this helps in your Choice of Powders.

Works great with jacketed and plated bullets in .45, using close to max loads like others have suggested. I'd use it more but I only had 2lbs, I'm down to 1lb, and can't find anymore locally. And I have an 8lb keg of Longshot to finish up.

Works well in lots of cartridges.
A bit too slow for optimum .45 Auto, unless loading near max.
I am amazed how versatile the powder is.
It does, however, move up and down the burn charts depending on cartridge used.

local store had a small shipment of powder that included some true blue,
I grabbed a pound to try, looking at ramshot data I will be loading 9mm
115gr lrn first 5.0 and 5.2 to test ? any opinions or experience
this will be a new powder for me looks like positive reviews

True Blue 9MM

I worked up a load for my Glock 19 with true Blue that shot Excellent very Accurate, I used 6.3 grain with a Berry 115 Grain SWC. I would give it a try with the Round Nose , good luck. LBEE

I worked up to 6.3 Grs True Blue with WSP primers and Hornady 115 Gr encapsulated FMJ loaded at 1.130 to 1.135 OAL. It gave most excellent velocities in a 3" EMP, a 5" S&W 1911, and a 16" RRA AR15. (1039, 1168, & 1330 FPS)

It is over max of the latest Ramshot data, and should be approached with caution.
