Trunk Gun?

I live in PA, & was wondering if any one out there could give me a little info on PA gun laws. I would like to keep a Mosin Nagant carbine locked in a box in the rear of my station wagon &/or minivan. Is this legal in PA? I do have a carry permit, but I'm unsure about the laws concerning long guns. Is this considered a concealed weapon, & if so would my PA carry permit which says "firearms" be sufficient? Is this legal without a carry permit? Is it legal at all? Thanks for any help. It would also be informative to hear from a Pennsylvania police officer on this matter if any are out there. Oh one last question, I would be traveling between PA & WV, would this change things or does the federal law in which you can transport unloaded firearms with ammo stored separately apply?

Thanks for the suggestion. I have been surfing for info, but haven't yet checked the NRA site. I'll admit I am a little hesitant to contact the authorities with this question though.
