OK, here is the deal- I am trying to get my collection finished- as I see it, I need the following:
1. Home Defense - I have that now; S&W 64-
2. Future use- concealed carry- ??
3. Plinking/small game - ideally a .22 lr
I would like to figure out a handgun that would provide the concealed carry option, and also give me small game hunting capability to supplement my model 64-
I don't think the pocket-guns (Beretta 21a, NAA mini-revolver, etc) would be easily usable as small-game hunters- at the same time I don't see a Ruger mark 3 .22 as pocketable or easily concealed.
I saw a Smith revolver the other day in a shop; a snub-nosed gun similar to the 442 in size and design chambering the .22 magnum round. I think this gun has an aluminum? cylinder, which is a little scary to me- but it would in theory be as concealable as a 442 or other j-frame. I don't know if this would be any better for accuracy on small game than the mouse-guns?
Are there other handgun models I am not thinking of that would fit this criteria of small and accurate in .22 caliber? Is the cylinder on that Smith really aluminum? I wonder how long it would hold up-
Thanks!
