I recently got a Colt Lightweight Commander that has a CLSxxxxx prefix.
I have not been able to find out much about this gun, it has a series 80 swartz safety so it is an 80 series but the rollmark is different than most I have seen.
The sides of the alloy frame are polished really nice. I love the Roll mark on this one

Can you shed some light on this for me?
Thanks in advance...

Here are some pics of this gun before I got it, those grips were removed first thing.

The Swartz and Series 80's firing pin safeties are two completely different firing pin safety designs.

Your Colt would have a Series 80 firing pin safety, which is activated/deactivated by the trigger.

A Swartz firing pin safety is activated/deactivated by the grip safety.

Understood, I didn't word that correctly

Here is all I can find out so far

The first stainless LWT commander was in 1990 and was roll marked CUSTOM CARRY COMMANDER. Colt made various runs of LWT Stainless commanders in the 1990's. They were not cataloged but were availible at certain times. I think yours is around the early to mid-90's. Nice gun.
