trying to identify some ammo

I had 3 lots of ammo given to me and I am trying to identify so I can get rid of it to someone who can use it. Thanks for any help I may get.

The longer "brass" cased round is 7.62X54R (Mosin). The shorter "brass" cased round is 7.62X39 (SKS/AK). The black cased one looks like 8MM/7.92 Mauser (Mauser)

Yea the lacquered coated looks a lot like some Yugo 8mm I bought

7.62x39 Russian made commercial, 1980. PPU 7.62x54R (Privi Partizan, Serbian) commercial, 1986. Romanian 8 mm Mauser , military surplus, 1974.

IIRC the green laquer on that Romanian 8mm was known for becoming tacky in a hot gun and practically welding the fired cases in the chamber- in addition to being hella corrosive.

BTW, that Russian stuff is worth quite a bit now that most of the supply is probably gone forever.

8mm Mauser; I don't know the manufacturer, my guess would be Yugoslavian. The stripper clips are German design, vs. the Turkish brass ones.

I did not. I identified the 7.62x54R as rimmed (hence the R) but I believe you may have confused the word Romanian for rimmed.

There are actually at least two 8mm Mauser rimmed rounds, specifically, 8x57JR, and 8x57JRS, made for Drillings, though the first is fairly rare. The first was developed for .318 bored Mausers, like the 1888 Commision rifle, and Drillings made between 1888 and @1910. The second is for drillings made after that to match available components for the 8x57JS military round, as well as take advantage of the spitzer bullet design in them.
