Trying to Put TruGlo Fiber Optics on a Marlin 336…TRYING

I have a JM Marlin 336 that I’m trying to put fiber optic sights on. I bought TruGlo sights, but they’re pretty heavily tapered. The factory bead sight doesn’t seem to be, but the mount is. The problem is the TruGlo sight doesn’t want to go in. I unscrewed the mount from the barrel, and I’m pushing it in the right direction. The factory sight pushed out easily. The new sights are so tight that I figured the first one was bad so I exchanged it, but the replacement is about the same. The only way I see this going on is if I file down the dovetail quite a bit, or if I put the mount on a bench vice and whack it pretty hard with a hammer.

Has anyone ran into issues installing sights on a 336?
