TMP range is in Tucson Mountain Park, off Kinney road, about 2 miles east of Old Tucson Studios. Go south I-10 to I-19, almost immediate right to Ajo road, head east quite a ways, then right on Kinney until you see the sign on the road, right hand side. Small sign.... Or,just look in Yahoo for good directions. Its a goofy little 100yard single range, $4 to shoot all day. Further down Ajo, past Three Points, is the mother of all ranges, Tucson Rifle Club - over a mile wide, with 7 ranges, including a thousand yard rifle range, and a 7 bay cowbaoy action range.
Being up in Marana, TMP is closest, Pima Pistol Club in Catalina a distant second.
Where are you?

My location

I live in Sahuarita (Rancho Sahuarita, the place with the lake on TV all of the time) Just north of Green Valley off I-19. Looking for a good place to empty some brass. :D :D :D you said:"almost immediate right to Ajo road, head east quite a ways, then" :: Don't you mean WEST?, East will take me right into South Tucson...

Closest and best to you would be Tucson Rifle club - drive north on I-19, left/west on Ajo, drive till you think you missed it, drive some more, about 4 miles west of Three Points, right hand side of the road. The other is Jensens West indoor range - I-19 north, get on I-10 west, off at Prince, go east, about 3 lights to Flwing Wells, Northeast corner behind the Wells Fargo Bank. 25 yard indoor range, 10 position, no shotguns or rifles over 22.
There are lots of THR members down on the southeast corner of the town - they had a big get together a month ago - I work every weekend, so it's hard to do that.
Hope that helps!
If you like artsy stuff, drive south of you on I-19 to Tubac - artist colony. Got your permit yet? Doesn't matter - welcome to the land of open carry!:) :D

Have permit, will carry.

Yes, I have my permit but usually open carry my Walther P99 (9mm) everywhere. Have not seen many places that frown on carrying other than the malls. I hope the change in carry laws to allow carry in resturants that happen to serve alcohol passes. I hate leaving it in the trunk of the car. Of course even if the Senate passes it (House already did) our butthole Gov. will probably veto it.:banghead: :fire:

Actually, Janet is not all that anti- she signed the range protection bill for Ben Avery in Phoenix. Chances are good she would sign this one as well, as well the chances are good it passess with a veto proof majority anyway!:D

I have no plans for Saturday other than possibly breaking in a new SKS.

I leave for Texas Sunday so give me a holler if anyone is going out shooting.

I might have to join in on the fun.

I don't have any plans to go shooting real soon, but I think I may be about to convert an anti from work. When he's up for a day at the range I'll let you all know so that maybe a couple of us show up with a wide variety of guns for him to try out (I've just got 1 pistol, 2 centerfire rifles, and 1 rimfire rifle).

Well, I've got a SA .44 mag, a DA .44 mag a 9mm (my carry gun), and the mandatory .45 1911. In rifles I've got a rimfire .22, a centerfire 30-06, and a centerfire .44 mag levergun so that should be a large enough range.

Keep in touch, always fun to convert antis...:D

Old Partner, I live in Vail, and there's some mining holes pretty close by that you could go shooting at. There's a map to the spot here about 29 posts from the top. Let me know if you want to meet out there sometime.

Ahem... the cow sign's on the wrong side of the turn off though...

oops...

Has anyone else used this mining hole since our big gun-happy shoot?

I have. Me and the son took out the SKS's that I got and put 100 rounds thru them.

Also shot the Kel-Tec .380 that I got a couple of weeks ago.

LennyJoe, how do you like it? I've been thinking of trading the FireStorm in for one because of the size -- it'd be a whole lot easier to take the keltec jogging over the firestorm...

Its a nice pocket pistol for sure. I carry it in an Uncle Mikes Pocket holster and dont even feel it there. Little hard to handle without an extra finger addition to the magazine but for 7 rounds of up close and personal work it will fit the bill just fine.

Accuracy is ok at 7 yds. I can keep them in the COM. I use it for a BUG when the .45 is out of ammo or unusable. Other than that its not gonna win any accolades in a target match.

Yeah, I would expect accuracy out of a barrel that short could produce such results and I would probably never end up using the sights anyways.

How's the muzzle flip? Flash?
