Hello Tucson shooters,

I'll be in your city this Friday (8/10) for an interview with Raytheon Missile Systems.

I may or may not have any free time (don't have the trip details yet), but if I do have some time, can you recommend any good gun stores to check out?

Raytheon appears to be in the south part of the city, so shops in that area would be easier to visit if time is limited.

Thanks,
Joe

Not much on the south side. Take Valencia to Alvernon. North on Alvernon and keep heading North. The road turns into Golf Links. After you pass the base on right you'll come to a stop light. Take a left on Swan and go North to Pima. Right on Pima and there is West of Pecos on right hand side. Nice little gun shop. Also, there is Second Amendment Sporting goods that just opened up. Haven't been in there yet.

From there you can get back on Swan and head North to Grant. Left on Grant to Country Club. Right on Country Club and up on your left will be Murphy's gun shop. There are a ton of guns in that shop. Nice place with decent prices.

On the East side is Diamondback Police Supply on Kolb and Broadway. Also on Craycroft just North of Golf Links is Cashbox Pawnshop. Nice guys running that shop.

Hope this helps.

Good luck on your interview. If you score a job there, let me know and I'll forward you the name of an FFL that works there. Does transfers for $25.

Also, if your looking for reloading stuff then Cashbox has some stuff. Also, Sportsmans Warehouse off of I-10 and Orange Grove has plenty. Take the Orange Grove exit and head East. Take the next left and then the following left at the next light. Sportsmans will be on your left.

While you are on Pima, just east of West of the Pecos on tne opposite side of the street is PIMA GUNS the sign is kinda small.

This is a nice little shop and the owner, Steve, is a great guy.

Good luck on your interview (I am employed by Raytheon).

Cheers!

Murphy's on Orangegrove. Just go East from the Sportsmans on Orangegrove.

Well unfortunately I didn't make it to any of the gun shops, but I did make it to Tucson and the interview went well. While it ain't San Diego scenery-wise, I could not believe how green everything was. I guess you guys have had a bunch of rain. Loved all the A-10s buzzing around, too.

I had dinner the night before the interview with one of the hiring managers. I knew the topic of hobbies would come and debated not mentioning guns, since I've heard Tucson is a bit "liberal". I did anyway and it turns out the manager has his CCW, buncha' guns, 3 Dillion presses, and a guest house converted to a gun/reloading house. Gotta love it.

Tucson liberal? Not in the 40 years I lived there!:) Good luck on the job, there are two good indoor ranges in the city, and four good outdoor ranges surrounding it.
