Larry Ashcraft said, "Not this year. We normally go to the spring show, but with business the way it has been we just can't justify the trip. Also, it's a 600 mile trip for us".
Larry, I hate to report it but you missed nothing at the show. The crowds were not quite as large as usual, there were a few totally empty tables and the folks in the aisles were just not spending money - IF they had any to spend. Overheard quite a few table holders indicate that they were very disappointed with the lack, or almost total lack of sales. Although I know that I had the very lowest lowest price at the show on my empty brass, I brought the bulk of it back home with me. Guess I'll have to post it for sale some time after the Thanksgiving holiday. Again, you didn't miss much by not attending this particular show and it rained like hell almost all day Saturday which you'd think would have helped somewhat but it didn't. I believe this was the last time I'll be having at table at the big Wanenmachers Gun Show especially with their current table rent of a whopping $140.

Sorry I didn't stop by Blasterbob, I was pressed for time both days trying to find a Makarov before having to go back to work. Only saw about 10 or so, but eventually found a good deal on an East German in good condition, my first handgun. :D My Grandpa got a Beretta 96, his first semi auto.

I had a good time, it being my first gunshow.

I guess Guns aren't recession proof.

P.S., you should stay on THR anyway.

Hey S.O.Grunt, glad to hear that you pumped some money into the system to help the sagging economy. Sorry that you didn't have some extra time to stop by and say "Hey" but at least you got what you were interested in and hope that you and your Grand Pappy both enjoy those pistols.

Blaster - I had 4 tables and this was the worst Tulsa show I've ever seen as far as attendance and sales. I think the timing was bad with start of rifle season for deer in Missouri and Arkansas, as well as opening day of Pheasant Season in Kansas. I know several local folks that never miss a Tulsa Show that spent the weekend in deer stands.

I really didn't see much changing hands at the show and heard several other vendors complain. Most of the folks I saw walking around Sunday were dealers. Hopefully things pick up in April, I'd really hate to see the show lose interest.
