Why are the backside of lugs on my tanfoglios beveled? They're(the barrels)basically a hi power design. The lockup is very tight in both of them.Just wondered why they do it and 1911's don't,is it because of the cam type operation?
Think the lugs are designed to wedge together for the purpose of controlling end shake? Or maybe to control the height of barrel and slide lug engagement? To center the firing pin on the primer?
