I picked up some blue bandoleros with 70 rounds of turkish 8mm on stripper clips from cheaper than dirt some time back for under $5.00. They have long since sold out and I can't seem to find it anywhere else on the net. Does anyone have a source for this resonably accurate and dirt cheap plinking ammo?
thanks

I bought a couple bandoleers up at Dunham's around January, but I haven't seen them anywhere since then. I bought the last two they had in stock. I'd really like to get more especially since they come on stripper clips and you can never have too many stripper clips.

WATCH OUT

I bought one of those bandoliers for $7 at a gun show and ended up throwing all of the rounds away after I found that most of the cases were cracked through the shoulder and you could pull the bullet out with little to no force.

A friend who shoots with me who happens to post here was there as well and can vouch for the fact that these rounds were DANGEROUS.

Check every round very carefully before you start shooting.

I have three Turks consisting of two 1903's and one KKales and have had no trouble with that ammo. Of course it is always a good idea to check your ammo before shooting. Some of this stuff was made a long time ago under possilby less than desirable conditions.

Many of the wholesalers ran out of turk ammo several months ago, there may be a few out there that have some left, but the stuff is pretty much all gone for good.

I've shot a few thousand rounds of this ammo over the last several years and never had a problem with it.

Romanian is good.

Yugoslavian 8mm is excellent, but very hard to find.

I shot some of that Romanian surplus this past weekend. Very dirty and a bit stinky! Black residue all over the place after 30 rounds, the bolt face and extractor were covered with gunk! It seemed to have slightly less kick than the 70's Yugo surplus, but was just about as accurate, i.e. not a factor at this time while I work on my shooting ability

I love the 70's Yugo stuff, very clean and reliable, and since I'm shooting it out of my M48 or my M24/47, it just feels right. Not to mention that there was a little slip of paper inside the sealed crate that listed both models :)
