Specifically, the 1893 Turkish Mausers that were rebarreled to make them 8mm Mausers. I've heard that they aren't safe to shoot the hot Turkish mil-surp ammo because the bolt doesn't have the gas vent found on later model Mausers.
Does anyone know about Ecuadorian mil-surp 8mm? Is that as hot as the Turkish, or would it be mild enough to safely shoot in one of the rebarreled M93s?
