TV Hunting Shows

Funny... I was just having this conversation with my wife this evening. I was flipping through the channels and came upon one of those canned hunts and voiced my displeasure. There are some shows I enjoy though. One on the versus network called Gun It with Benny Spies is pretty good. He pretty much drives around SD finding friends who have ranches or land and gets their permission to hunt. I've seen some public land hunting as well as just finding a hot spot and getting some random stranger's permission to hunt their land. Maybe its because he's a little nutty or maybe its because I've hunted some of the same areas but I just get a kick out of that show.

I did notice the whispering after the shot on one show tonight as well as the barrage of advertisers/sponsors. I guess I haven't noticed the girlfriends worried about how they dress or the kill shots being different than the animal in the victory shots but I will be watching for that now for sure. As frustrating as some things are I still end up watching just to feed my appetite for hunting.

i watch Lock and Load Thursdays just to see the gear. Althought the new show Long Range Pursuit is not bad. They do segments that actually teach you items for long range shooting.
My wifw does not like Larry Vickers. She has good taste

I like the Eastman boys and I like Fred Eickler and his show Easton Bow Hunting. The rest are all kinda lame. And yes the rock music shows don't even get turned on.

The rock music on the shows is what kills me, when I get up in the morning and get my coffee I don't want to hear it! The funny thing is I have been a huge fan of Megadeth since 1990, but I don't take them hunting with me. The only execption to my no rock in the morning is the Ted Nugent "Tooth fang and claw", he is a rockstar so it is to be expected.

I was watching some guy on some channel today shooting squirrels with a .22 in a AR15 platform with a nice scope on it.....and he was whispering after he shot the lil guys....makes me just want to laugh at these "hunters"
