Twist Rates: 22 LR

I have been weighing the idea of getting a quicker twist rate for my 10/22. With the Aguilla SSS 60gr rounds, the standard 1:16 twist is inadaquate, sending the bullet keyholing. I saw that Volquartsen offered some different and slightly faster twist rates for .22 LR, and wondered if anyone has some expertise in this field that could offer some guidance.
If I got a faster twist rate, say 1:14, 1:12, 1:10, 1:9, or 1:8, would it still stabilze the 40 grain standard velocity and high velocity loads?
I am looking to build a "tack driver" with which I may shoot the 60 grain OR the 40 grain loads with a good degree of precision. Any thoughts on this would be appreciated.

Have you even considered calling Mossberg and just ask them?

Or, have you ever considered stuffing a tight patch on a marked cleaning rod down it and Measuring how many inches it takes to make one complete rotation?

That right there is the twist rate.

Getting one barrel to shoot both a 60 grain sub sonic bullet AND a 40 grain high velocity bullet and demanding accuracy is a very tough quest.

The heavy slow bullet will need a fast twist and barrels spoecific for the SSS ammunition have been produced. The 40 grain "standard" is well served with the "standard" twist.

I am not savvy with the Ruger, does it not allow for easily interchangable barrels? My 77/22 did.
