Those are very nice, and you got a good price.

I have a K22 and would love to have a K38.

Enjoy them in good health! :)

Cool and they both have the speed hammer and standard trigger. The grips do not look to be period correct Diamond Targets on one gun, and the other has 1970's or later targets. Still nice grips. Congrats on the find and the great price.

Howdy

You did very well getting two Five Screw Smiths for $1200.

This K-22 Masterpiece shipped in 1954 and it is wearing its original Magna grips.

This K-38 shipped in 1950 and it too is wearing its original Magna grips.

Have to admit it. There’s a soft spot in my heart for vintage Smith & Wesson handguns. Saw these two and just couldn’t resist. Both are in about 95% condition. The K22 is slightly out of time but this is an easy fix. Takes me about 30 minutes to install an over-size Power Custom hand in one...not even sure I will do that since the timing issue is so slight. The grips on the K22 are not period correct. The K38 grips may not be period correct...not sure when they went to the diamond coke bottle grips. The serial number on the K38 dates to 1949. The K22 dates to 1950. Wish they could talk...bet they have changed hands three or four times. Slight holster wear on the end of the barrels. The bluing on the K22 is getting thin on the edges. Both guns have obviously been used but well cared for. $1200 for the pair out the door.
Nice set of vintage Smiths!
Few revolvers are more classic than the older Smith K/frames in .38 and .22 LR wearing 6” barrels.

Stay safe.
