I went to the range each of the last two Saturdays (I live 5 minutes away from a very nice public range at my local State Park). I took my two best precision rifles to sight them in at 100 yards with factory ammo for some long distance shooting down at the NRA Whittington Center in the next few weeks. I have long believed that one should, at some time in their lives, own a rifle that cannot be blamed for poor performance...and I have the good fortune to own at least two. Last week I took my AI AT in .308 Win and this week I took my TRG-22 in 6.5 Creedmoor. The results speak for themselves.

When sighting in, I do so at 100 yards as I use mil/mil scopes and dial in come-ups as necessary and shoot three shot groups. I shoot five shot groups to evaluate the rifles' true capabilities. Accordingly, I see these two days as an indication of what the rifles can do but draw no firm conclusions yet. That will wait for my trip to Raton. I used factory loads to provide a benchmark for my load development. Next step: back to my reloading bench to develop loads with H4350 and Varget for the 6.5 Creed. My match loads for .308 Win are good to go with 42.2 gr of IMR 4064 under a 175 gr Sierra MatchKing in Lapua brass.
