When I started shooting .45 again after a couple of years "caliber hiatus," I began with a Sig 220. It was great and much better than I remember shooting 1911s.

So of course I wanted "more." I added a carry size, a Smith 4516-1 and a pocket size, a Shield .45 2.0.

I thought the 3rd gen Smith might be "heavy," but after a few days of carrying, I knew it was heavy. Very.

So I decided on a plastic gun; I really like my M&Ps, and found an M&P .45 compact with Apex and tritium sights.

I was putting them in my range bag last night for some side-by-side shooting....and decided a picture of the two together (they are exactly the same size) would be fun.

I'll let folks know how it goes at the range...will probably get there 4/19. 0417182245.jpg 0417182245a.jpg 0417182246.jpg

You know, the more I see that two-tone combination of a black/blued slide with a FDE frame, the more I like it!

Let us know how the range session goes.

I love the 4516. One of my favorite compact 45s. I carried one in plainclothes for years and still have it.

As to the other gun. Well, Grandma always said, if you cant say anything nice.......... ;)
