What's often more hilarious is when they stiff the collection plate for the VFD

It's even easier than that. Around here they're more likely to get a response of "So what?" from the dispatcher rather than "We'll send someone out".

We have a similar issue here. I've recently read two reports of immigrants from Libfornia moving to rural SD and complaining of "hearing gunfire" from neighboring property.

Not from "Libfornia", but did report gunshots heard after dark out in the country a few weeks back. So did the neighbor. LEOs later found two freshly killed deer in a soybean field on the hill. Not deer season yet.

I kept my LTC and will continue to do so for reciprocity with other states.

LTC will legally give you a lot more benefits on places to carry as well. I have seen numerous 30.05 signs and you can walk right past legally with an LTC. There are other advantages as well.
