Ex-hoops player kills home intruder

A former San Antonio high school basketball star and NBA player shot and killed an intruder in his house early Sunday, according to police.

Fennis Dembo, 37, who played one season for the Detroit Pistons, was at home when he heard someone inside his house on the 400 block of North Pine Street, police said.

Dembo told the man to stop before shooting at him seven times, according to a police report.

The unidentified intruder was shot in the head, chest and arm, and taken to Brooke Army Medical Center where he was pronounced dead at 3:32 a.m., the report stated.

No charges have been filed and the shooting is under investigation, police said.

Fembo played at the University of Wyoming and was drafted in the second round in 1988. He later played for the Continental Basketball Association and in Europe.

Nice grouping.

My instructor's advice on tight groups in defensive shooting:

"Well, whatever the organ used to be that you hit, you've probably destroyed it, so shooting it again isn't gonna help. If you're still under attack, he probably doesn't need that particular organ in the short run, so you better try another."
