Firearm retention is one of the most important things taught to agents and law enforcement. Guess she wasn't in class that day.

Yeah mistakes happen- but there is a wide variety of the seriousness of the mistake. A man could have dropped his wallet in the bathroom or GW could have forgotten the "football" next to the crapper but that doesn't mean that both mistakes are equal.
If you don't think its serious, try this for an experiment. Leave a gun in your coat pocket next time you go to an airport. When they find it on you and security has you face down on the floor with an M-16 pressed tightly to your skull start telling them that it was a mistake and you forgot that you had it in your pocket.
