I'm considering my next rifle/scope purchase, and I'm a sucker for great optics. Does anyone have any experience with US optics riflescopes? Are they worth the price, or should I stick with my leopold and nightforce glass?
Thanks for the post. Is that a remington short action it's mounted on? What distance do you shoot? It's been about 5 years since I've held one, are they still built like tanks?
I shoot out to 1k every chance I get. It is a long action .308 the rifle. It started out as a 30-06. It has been rebuilt since that photo was taken. It is still a .308. Damn good scopes!
The one on my 308 has been ROCK SOLID since I got it in like June. Zero has never drifted, and dialing the dope is always right on. Only have a few rounds through the other one.
When I did a side by side comparison of a USO SN3 to a NF or Leupold (before I bought any), it blew them away, especially in low light.
You can find a lot of feedback on them at SnipersParadise and SnipersHide, good and bad.
I just perused USO's web site and price list. My mind was boggled. I'll probably run 1k rds or so through my .308(leupold scope) while I figure out EXACTLY what I want. Prices didn't seem bad, considering the custom lvl and the fact that it's all American made(that's hard to find!) Are they variables or fixed power? My scopes are variables, but I find my NF scope sits on 22x most of the time I shoot.
I know swarovsky is another high-dollar scope maker, but do they compare to USO? iirc, the last time I've held one I was not suitably impressed.
