Uberti 1849 with 5” or 6” barrel? Did they ever make one?

Flayderman makes no mention of it, but IIRC, P.L. Shumaker's book makes mention of a few (in one of the last chapters) and shows a photo of one, but I think they were regarded as somewhat spurious and may have been created by one of Colt's workers and went home in a lunch pail. Reminds me of the song "One Piece At A Time" by Johnny Cash. ;)

Somewhere in the THR archives is a thread where we discussed these dragoon barrel pockets. My understanding was that ASM made these because at the time this style was considered to be the rarest style of original Colt pocket.
 
The seller said it had mechanical problems and, short of buying two and cannibalizing one, where are you going to get ASM parts.
I too was torn but in the end I said to my self:
"Self - So many beautiful functioning guns, so little money and so little time!"
And I passed it by.
