Has anyone had any experience with the Uberti 1873 Cattleman .45 LC with black matte finish plus brass trigger guard & backstrap--ease of cocking and any problems with the matte finish?

All I know about them is that the local Gander Mountain keeps taunting me with one, but they want entirely too much for it. It's piracy, I tell you.

I have one in .357. It's a great gun.

No problems with the finish.

Cocking is fine. I got Wolff springs for mine to make it feel even bettter ($20 total), but I shot it before I got them and liked it. Either way, it goes through the 3 clicks really silky and smooth.

Yeah i was just at gander mountain and they had a couple of these. entirely to pricey, actually all their revolvers where to much like 75 to 100 bucks to much.

I have one without the brass. I love shooting it. I did strip it completly down and smooth up the insides. I have heard some complaints about the finish but I havn't had any problems with mine. I shoot it alot and carry it about the same amount as my Combat Commander here on the farm.
