Is the current Uberti production of the Remington Navy (.36 caliber) built on the same frame as the .44 Army?

I did a search and most seem to say that they are the same size frame, but ran across a photo comparison that showed the Navy model as smaller.

If I remember, Uberti uses the same frame size for both the Army & Navy revolvers while originally Remington used a smaller frame size for the navy than for the Army.
If I'm wrong some wiser member will come along and rake me over the coals.:)

Howdy

That is correct. The VTI Gun Parts exploded drawing shows the same frame used for both. The barrels and cylinders have different part numbers, depending on the caliber.

That's why the 36 is such a good candidate for hot rodding the cylinder is a 44 cylinder with 36 holes in it

I'll bet it has very little recoil. That's a lot of iron for a .36.
