A guy has one of these for sale, but I have never heard of them. I looked on the Uberti website and a cattleman 44 cap and ball revolver doesn't exist. I seen some photos, and it looks like a cattleman frame, but with a cap and ball cylinder. I can see the cut-outs in the back of the cylinder for the nipples. The normal single action .45 or 44/40 cylinder does not have the nipple cut-outs.

Did you try here?

That's it

I never thought to look at the Uberti Italy webpage. The Uberti USA webpage doesn't show these revolvers. Anybody owned or shot one of these?

These are/were made by Armi San Marco, Pietta, and Uberti and are sold by several places.
I have one with four spare cylinders. You have to load them with a seperate loader, therefore the spare cylinders. I carry my spare cylinders in speedloader cases. Just load them up and go... Shoot one cylinder, change cylinders, and open the loading gate to cap the nipples.
It, like all blackpowder revolvers, is a blast to shoot.

I saw one at a local range. the guy had the loading tool too. rumor was that they were made in response to the english gun ban to let englishmen continue shooting cas type revolvers.
