The last couple of times I've been out shooting my Uberti Cattleman in .45 Colt, the cylinder pin has shot loose and started to slide forward, resulting in less than great cylinder lock up! Have any of you experienced this? Would it be worth trying to deepen the groove that the cylinder latch pin goes into? Replace with a different brand? (The Cattleman has the - I think - ridiculous two position cylinder pin - one of which will prevent your gun from firing!)

Thanks!
Dave

It might be, although the gun is pretty new. I can look at that. Thanks.

Don't deepen the groove that locks the pin. Get a stronger spring for the pin release. Better yet, make a two piece cylinder pin lock without spring. This system is a small problem on Colt SAA clones and even Ruger revolvers. Check on the Net as there are several manufacturers that make fixes for this.
