I've noticed that a lot of guys on this site use percussion revolver parts from Dixie Gun Works as replacements for worn parts or to fix timing problems. I've seen these same parts from Cimarron selling for considerably more money ( cylinder bolts for instance are $15.00 each). Are the Cimarron-Uberti parts really worth that much more? Do they possess superior hardening characteristics, better quality steel, etc. or would I be better off just getting my cap-and-ball parts from DGW. As for you shooters that use DGW parts, are you satisfied with their quality? Also, Cabellas carries spare parts kits for some of their (Pietta) revolvers; are these interchangeable for the most part with Uberti-made replicas?
Trusting in the experience and knowledge of members on this site, I'll be basing my purchases accordingly.

I've bought parts from Dixie Gunworks, VTI, Taylors and Traditions. Taylors (Uberti) and Traditions (Pietta) each have sent me new parts on guns less than a year old (their warrantees). As they all import their parts and guns, the parts have been the same quality from each. I've heard that Cabelas sells a parts kit but I have never gotten one simply because you don't know in advance what part(s) might break - others have had good luck with their spare parts kits.

Parts sometimes don't interchange between the different makers of replica revolvers. Therefore it is important to buy replacement parts that were made by the same company that made the gun.

Also today, as during the 19th century, parts usually have to be hand fitted to the revolver, they are not something that you can install and go. This is particularly true of cylinder bolts and hands.

OK here goes, this is for Remington Clones only.
Pietta parts for Pietta, Uberti parts/Euroarms parts interchange for the most part with each other and...originals. Been there done that.

Dixie sells some parts that fit origianls, but very few.

My parts from S & S Firearms (Euroarms) fit my Uberti Carbine, my Euroarms and a couple parts fit the Originals I have. Hand, Mainsprings, Trigger/Bolt spring, and hand screw.) most of the screws from Uberti and Euroarms DO NOT FIT originals.

Rule of thumb for originals, Parts fit, screws don't.

Dixie's Cylinder Pin for Originals, fit my original like a glove. Dixie's Bolt is the same shape as the originals and fits like a drop in. It is listed as 44 Remington and 1875 Remington.

Someone else can expound on Colt parts.

Speaking of replacement parts, where can i find parts to fit a Centennial model Colt 1860 repro (made in Belgium)? Dixie tells me neither Pietta nor Uberti parts will work.

I got two of these a few years ago probably from Brownelles, maybe from Numrich but neither list them now. the back is marked "spare parts for colt types' AC070. This number brings up a selection of unrelated parts on the Brownelles site and nothing on the numrich.
I have an unmarked navy that came unfinised in a box marked Colt and containing colt literature. It appears to be either a pietta or ASM. The usual response to this is (1) no such gun was ever made; (2) all Italian Revolvers have proof marks: (3) All Colt revolvers are associated with Uberti Nevertheless, it has shape and occupies space. The bolt was brittle and broke during finishing of the gun and I replaced it with a bolt from one of these kits. All I had to do was spread the legs at the back of the bolt so that they would imping the frame and hammer. Otherwise, perfect drop-in fit
