I've used this stuff before with no problems but of course today I ran into one.

I blasted down "120 alox" my dads old rusted colt courier "yet another katrina victim" why he left guns in a closet in "CARRY CASES!!!!" makes NO f-n sense to me.... but heres my problems: after blasting, removing blast residue, acetoning,drying,blue-rust remover "for the hell of it" acetoning, lauer Tru-stripping drying AGAIN I appplied Duraphos "air cured phosphat parkerizing". I did the rinse down after the 7-8 minutes as suggested, did a fast soap/hot water wash then cold water rinse. I then dried everything extremly thorough and about 5 minutes later the power went out... So instead of putting duracoat on with no lighting I just heavily rubbed some gun oil/clp on. and left it over night.

I woke up this morning any there is alot of light surface rust "I guess?" it's bronze colored and looks like rust to me... what can be used to remove the rust chemical wise or etc. that won't remove the finish? or will I HAVE to blast and redo everything? I have not touched the metal yet since discovering the condition.

The color may well be the natural result of that particular phosphate process. The composition of the solution determines the finished color, with the concentration and type of the metallic element being key.

If you followed the directions on the product, this would be my guess. Unless, of course, the package says it's supposed to be grey, black or something else.

IIWY, I'd contact the manufacturer of the product and ask them what it's supposed to look like. If what you've got ain't it, they ought to be able to help you find out why.

Parkerizing solutions usually have to be at 190-200 degrees to work. Not sure about Duraphos, but I suspect this is your issue.

duraphos is a spray on no heat no bake liquid phosphate. Color is supposed to be medium blue-grey/grey. it was all blue-grey last night. this morning it's greenish here and there and has surface rust "i guess" in various spots and runs.

Did you degrease everything thoroughly before applying the park? Fingerprints and salts may affect things

after blasting, removing blast residue, acetoning,drying,blue-rust remover "for the hell of it", re-acetoning, lauer Tru-stripping "tolulene based cleaner/degreaser" and then drying AGAIN I aplied Duraphos

I'm just wondering if I could chemicaly remove the rust without damaging anything. I'd prefer not to remove the finish but if I have to then so be it.... I really don't want to have to re-blast since alot of the metal is thin as it is like the sheetmetal bullet tube and sight hood.
