Maybe locking the door and owning a gun in Canada IS a good idea.
Four sought in brutal home invasion
Friday, October 31, 2003
TORONTO -- A brutal early morning home invasion has left even seasoned police officers disgusted.
The terror began for two Humber College students -- a man and a woman -- just before 1 a.m. Friday morning when four masked men, armed with a handgun, a machete and a knife, entered their Lymont Road home through an open door, Toronto Police Supt. Ron Taverner said.
The two residents were beaten and tied up with duct tape. The woman was then dragged into a bathroom where she was raped.
During the robbery, a second woman returned home. She too was beaten, tied up with duct tape and sexually assaulted, Taverner said.
The four men then ransacked the house -- which is four separate apartments. The men took an undisclosed amount of valuables from the house and fled after about an hour and half.
The suspects are described to police as:
1. A black man about 20 years old. He stood five-feet, 10-inches tall and had a thin build. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark baggy pants. His face was covered with a bandana and he was armed with a hunting knife.
2. A black man in his late teens to early 20s. He stood about five-feet, seven-inches tall. He was wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants. His face was covered with a dark paisley bandana and he was armed with a handgun.
3. A black man in his early 20s. He stood about five-feet, 10-inches tall and had a medium build. He wore a dark hooded sweatshirt. His face was covered with bandana and he was armed with a machete.
4. A black man with a slim build who stood about six-feet, two-inches tall. He was wearing dark baggy clothing and his face was covered with a black bandana.
Anyone with any information is asked to call the Hold-Up Squad at 416-808-7350 or CrimeStoppers at 416-222-TIPS.
