ultramax for the 1st time!

well i finally got around to going to the range today and, i took 225rds of the ultramax 180gr cnl, and shot up every bit of em, through my xd service model. I was very pleased and they were pretty darn accurate, they feed and shot just as good as the wwb 165gr rds i shot today, and the blaser brass. the ultramax is pretty dirty and i checked the barrel after every 100rds or so just to make sure there wasn't any lead fouling issues, though there was lead in the barrel it was nothing out of the ordinary that i have experienced with other lead rds. there were no issues at all that i could feel while shooting or see in the barrel. but i love cleanning my weapons so a little dirtiness won't hurt my feelings. I like the ultramax and will most definetly use them in the future, especially with the deal that dick's has on them. good ammo at a bit less in the money department, i think they are a great value.

just got done cleanning her up and it was just like cleanning after any other range session. i used birchwood casey bore scrubber 2in1 which is something that i have never used for lead removal but it did a fine job. the ultramax shot good and cleaned up like normal, they are definetly keepers.

Be careful of that Ultramax stuff. Some friends of mine and I were shooting not too long ago and one of them had all kinds of problems with the Ultramax .223 and .45. It might have been a couple of bad lots, but it makes me kind of leery about buying it now.

No problem, bro. The issues he had with it were with blown primers and bullet set back. He even had a "pop and no kick" with one of the .223 rounds. Glad we caught that one before he fired another round.

Hey possum, there is a coupon in the sunday paper for your ultramax...buy one, get one 50%....actually that goes for all ammo at Dick's(have to have the coupon though)

Thanks brother, is it in all papers? is there anyway i can get the coupon off the internet? the only paper i get is the ft. riley post and the only place that has adds in there is goodies, and a few others that i never shop at. I need to get some of those sunday papers. thanks again, that is awesome!

Here in MA they have that same deal buy one get one 50% off (limit of 6 boxes) They always have a large stack of the current fliers right when you walk in and that's how I got my coupon. Your store may have a nice stack just waiting for you too.

Yeah, theres a chance that the adds are outside of the store...As far as your question about them being in all of the papers...All i know is it was in my Sunday paper, and I know the sale is nation wide, but they are definately adamant about having the coupon.
